It
should come as no shock that Brody Miller has a
natural talent for Disc Golf. Born to Jerry “The
Mentor” Miller a little over 21 years ago,
Brody has been playing since childhood. His father,
Jerry, has been instrumental in the promotion of
Disc Golf for even longer, acting as a mentor and
teacher to countless disc golfers, including his
son, for over 25 years.
Knocking down 10 foot putts at age 3, playing in
his first competition at age 6, and constantly placing
in the top 5 (if not outright winning) junior tournaments,
Brody has been a force to be reckoned with on the
Disc Golf scene for years. He first appeared in
the World Juniors Finals at age 15, the youngest
player on the course since the age bracket was 16-19.
He took fourth place that year, |
showing
up almost all of the older competitors. The next
year he began playing in the PDGA as an amateur,
again placing in the top 5 in most tournaments he
entered. In 2003 he entered The Beaver State Fling,
a PDGA tournament, in the open category to play
with the pros for the first time. He took an impressive
fourth place finishing just behind Barry Schulz
and Dave Feldberg, and went on to win the Washington
State Championship later that year. In 2004 Brody
ended his amateur career with a bang, placing 3rd
out of 258 players in the Amateur World Championship.
Brody’s Ace count is currently at 66 and counting.Currently
Brody is honing his skills in preparation for a
possible appearance in the United States Disc Golf
Championship and the PDGA pro circuit. |
